As a lot of you are already aware, PANTONE recently re-branded their PANTONE MATCHING SYSTEM (PMS) colors to PANTONE PLUS. Essentially, this means that the PANTONE Goe System is now the primary color system in the Pantone Universe, and PANTONE PLUS is now a secondary/supplemental color system. In addition to this reorganization, Pantone has added 224 new Solid colors, 42 new Neon colors (formerly known as Day-Glo), and has also added a whole new set of metallic colors called Premium Metallics. These Premium Metallics are a combination of Pantone Goe ink bases with a new metallic - PANTONE Silver. Apparently, the older Metallics set is still in play. There is also a new set of Process (four-color) Colors - now called CMYK.

What does all of this have to do with the ColorWerx site? Well, it means that all of the color swatch images and PDF reports are now out-of-date. Since this new Pantone series also requires new guide books - with new paper stock - so the CIE-L*ab and sRGB measurements have been modified. I have begun the time-consuming task of re-generating the various leagues in order to reflect the changes in the visual aspects of these Pantone colors.

So far, I have updated the following leagues:

As indicated, the Roller Hockey International and Continental Indoor Soccer League sections are new to the ColorWerx site.  I recently obtained actual Pantone information for a number of franchises, and generated swatch images and PDF reports for these two historical leagues.  As always, an asterisk (*) in the bottom-right-hand-corner of a color swatch on the images or reports (see below) indicates an estimated Pantone (or other color value) color.

Next...finally getting the full story on how these color swatch reports and images are created.
